Court Marriage in India and Process of the Court Marriage, Eligibility





 

In India The procedure for court Marriage is governed by the “ Special Marriage act, 1954.” The Interested Parties Can Directly Apply to the marriage Registration, in order to get marriage certificate.

 

Document Required for court marriage in India:


Application form filled duly and signed by the bride and groom, birth certificate/ Passport, matriculation certificate, receipt of fees, Ration card, Separate affidavit from bridge and groom, Passport size photograph of both parties duly attested by a Gazeted    officer, affirmation that the parties are not related to each other within the degree of prohibited relationship defined in special marriage act.

 

Procedure of court marriage:

Firstly : File a “Notice of Intended marriage the specified form to the marriage registrar of the district.”

 

Secondly: The Notice Is then published by the registrar of marriage inviting objections.

 

Thirdly: after the expiration of the 30 days from the date on which intended marriage has

been published the marriage may be solemnized.

 

Fourthly: The marriage may be solemnized at the specified marriage office.

 

Fifthly : Both parties with three witnesses are required by the parties on the date of the solemnization.
